84 gpz 750 non turbo head on a 82 kz 750 block?

Also I read somwhere that a zx turbo head gasket works well on a N/A gpz750.
There was a rumour that the 82 R1 heads were hand ported from the factory, but it might just be urban myth.

I believe this is true. There were photos in one of the bike mags back in the day, and a statement from Kawasaki clarifying that the port work is done at the factory. This is doubly easy to understand while restoring the head on my '81 750E2 and seeing how crappy the casting and machine work was in the ports. The short side radius had a sharp edge where the port was cut to accept the valve seat, and excess material around the seat in the bowl area. I took a die grinder and smoothed out these sharp edges on my engine with only a minimum of work.

Turbo cam's are stock KZ650 cam's.
83-84 GPz head is the best 750 head flow wise.
1980 KZ650 F1
ZX750A1 motor.
Wiseco 810cc kit.
Zukiworks racing ported head.
VM 29 smooth bore's.
Dyna 2000 Ign. w/Dyna mini coil's
APE cylinder stud's and nut's.
APE valve spring's.
APE Track King clutch.
V/H KZ1000 sidewinder.
3.5x18 laced to a KZ1000 disk hub.
150/60/18 Shinko 006 Podium.
63" wheel base.

It don't quite work like that.
You need to make a cutaway valve cover to use when degreeing cam's.
Cam's must be installed like they will be ran with cam chain adjusted correctly.

Please explain further. I don't understand. What's wrong with degreeing the cams with the valve cover off? The cover doesn't affect the cams or cam chain.

With out it you can't degree the cam's.
