david-b wrote: Mine actually doesn't have a fuel tank bracket. I seen on some there's a metal bracket that goes over the battery and the tank bolts on to it... I don't have that. I don't have any holes for mounts or weld marks on it.
This is the only pic I have with me at the moment of the frame right there.

I'll have to check the engine number when I get home.
I'm still confused because it seems like something that I have bought, (like numerous horn/oil cooler brackets) that would fit the LTD don't.
Its a LTD frame. Look at the way the tail section is mounted.
Motor is GPz750 with the LTD or E model Keihin carbs. Should be black Mukuni carbs on the R1.
At least its a legal bike, and not a frame someone did a number job on.
When I looked at the serial number on your frame, and i was thinking to myself someone did a perfect job restamping the serial numbers. Plus removing the white info tag too!!
Those 17 digit serial numbers were a pain to restamp, plus it was real hard to find that size stamp set.
Or thats what I was told.

At least I know what the horn mount should be. Single with the 2 bolt.
And, this uses the cheaper grab bar!

So there is no back fairing then, it's just a long ass seat, or the 2 part seat?

1980 750 LTD had a two piece seat. Only the front half flipped open.
1981 and up was a one piece seat.

I don't know if the Spectre frame grip will fit. However, the rear mounting points on your bike are offset lower than the forward shock mounts. It's doubtful that the 440 would work - it's a smaller bike.
The 80-83 KZ750-Ltd-4 (chain drive models) & 81-83 KZ650-CSR have the same frame grip.
I believe the 82 750-CSR has the same one as well. There's a chance that the 750E Standard-4 frame grip will work, but I've never verified it. The 750E frame is similar to the 750H Ltd.

kaw-a-holic wrote: Did you ever figure out the cable issues? I would measure the cable that came off of it and call Z1. They have awesome customer service. They will help you figure out the part number that is best suited for your application.
I'm assuming it was the wrong cable. The bike is nearly put away now for the winter so it's packed into the shed. I don't have the old cable so can't measure it, but it was shorter than the new one I have on there now. I'll try to play with it throughout the winter to try to get it routed better. If I can't I'll just buy a new cable and have this one as a spare, no biggy.
