Help with finding air cleaner material.

I have a old kawasaki with a rajay turbo. I doubt a air cleaner is available anymore. Could I use some kind of foam pad as a filter? I really don't want to change to a newer style air box.
I don't have any pics, but I have this video that shows what I have on the bike for a air cleaner.

Go to your local GA Airport (small planes). Go to the maintenance shop. Many of the small planes use a disposable foam filter made by a company "Bracket" or something like that. They come in different sizes and shapes. New they are covered with a sticky stuff. You could probably get a used one for free, clean it and coat it with a light oil (like your lawn mower) and make it work. The sticky stuff in the new ones has a tendency to drip out over time and might make a mess on whatever is under it. It won't be as good as a paper but it will filter, and a 6"x6" will flow enough air for a 360CID engine at 2700RPM. Good Luck. Rick

It's a Zenith. I'll try to get some pics later today. It has a mesh screen inside to keep a foam filter from being sucked into the carb.
I wonder if this would work? www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www....0CDEQ9QEwAQ&dur=6643

Like I wrote, I'm sure it's H.D. aftermarket :pinch: .....I remember seeing those in the 80's .....most any filter/housing that fits a zenith/bendix will work with 3 mounting holes.... I would worry about airflow with the filter in the link provided. :pinch: I would go with the UNI foam replacement like 531blackbanshee wrote :woohoo: ......free flowing for the turbo

I agree with Turboking. When I was building my HD I saw those same filter housings in the catalogs. Check JP cycles, Custom Chrome, etc.

If I were you, I'd throw the thing out and find something with better flow.

hth,
leon

Thanks for all the feedback guys!
I'm going to order the foam after my turbo comes back from being inspected by Terry at Mr. Turbo.
I think the turbo might have been drawing oil from the crank case. (It's blowing oil out the exhaust) The engine was overfull, but having the turbo checked anyway, just to be safe.
I need to replace the head gasket. The owner before me tried to ride it around the block with the waste gate blocked off. That's why it sat on his sun porch for years untouched. I have no idea why he would have done this, but now I have to fix his mistakes.
