My trick is to grab the 3/8 ratchet so that the extension bar to the socket comes out between my second and third finger, so I am basically "palming" the ratchet section of the socket wrench. Can't get much torque on it that way. It's very easy to tighten by feel that way.
Sometimes I just keep turning until I don't hear the exhaust leak anymore..... :lol:
