I cannot think of any good reason for a whole in the overflow tube. Did gas run out that hose before? It would not cause your crankcase to fill though.

Fuel an oil only ever came out the overflow. But I've got a new peacock and tomorrow ongoing to do an oil change. Tomorrows ride should tell us if it's been fixed.

So the petcock that I bought, will not work due to the opening in the tank and the location of the hardware holes. I can have photos tomorrow when my phone gets fixed.

I'm beginning to think my bike might not be a '76 or that whom ever owned it prior to myself, messed more than originally thought.

Have you compared your tank & fuel valve to the diagrams? Kawasaki.com or Partzilla.

The bolt-hole spacing on some bikes is 44mm - usually 70s models.
The spacing is 34mm on others - typically 80s models I'd guess (81 650-CSR = 34mm).
Some fuel valves thread onto the tank.

The hole in the tank varies as well.

After seeing the diagram my petcock is stock, just installed in a very questionable way :side:. Must just be a stocking error with the supplier I purchased from because it specifically said it was for a 76. Looks like ill just rebuild the stock one and slap it back on
