I found another cam chain guide down in the oil pan when I dropped it.
See picture below.
Any idea what causes them to break.
Should I be concerned of damage to the engine fron this.

I imagine a loose cam chain. But doesn't your model year have an automatic chain tensioner? But even an automatic one could be getting stuck or have a weak spring.

Is it just the picture, or is the oil pump screen mostly clogged? It seems like the last person in that engine went hog wild with the RTV sealer. When reassembling mine I did an experiment. No RTV. Just a very light film of water proof grease on the cylinder block base gasket. Went dry with the head gasket. And used Permatex Cooper gasket spray on the pan, tensioner body and valve cover gaskets. On the valve cover gaskets I reused the old gasket (which leaked), just to see how this cooper spray treatment worked. I hasn't leaked. But my goal is to see how easy it is to take these gaskets off once I go in there again. Aside from not getting any leaks (which I have not), which method is easiest for the gasket to come off and clean off.
