Another $100 for a gasket set and $50?
for odd's and end's plus BEER
so around $250 to fix it.

Very nice repair. :woohoo: Remote filtering? Now that sounds like a very good idea especially on a drag bike. I have never seen or heard of painting the inside of the motor, could you please elaborate on the benefits and even what type of paint...how it is applied etc.?

great idea however id check oil pressure operation range and use a common import small filter. if its a low pressure motor like the kz1000 i wouldnt as it may not flow enough but i think your motor used shell bearings opposed to the needle bearings so you may have the oil flow and pressure to pull it off. just a thought.

back to the pan.

OMR I was real happy with it.

Lush we have a small remote filter setup
at work for the hydrostatic drives on the big Gravely
stuff that will work good.

Dave, Do yourself a HUGE favor....
Had the exact same Z1 kit so... don't use those valve oil seals (ask me how I know :whistle: )... All other gaskets no issues. Bastards will start leaking on ya within 1k miles. Ended up having to go back in on my first build and replacing.

Larry C warned me but did I listen, nope and had to learn the hard way of course... :pinch: :laugh:

Spend a little extra cash and get the APE seal kit for which I just ordered @ $18 for 8 pack or Viton @ Pit Stop for $25....
