1. Yes there are pools of oil in all buckets. They are hard to see from te angle of my pics since I was looking to the lob.
2. No tests have been done to determine oil preassure.
3. I'm assuming the cam wear is from poor oil circulation when it over heated combined with the 10-15min of riding times after the fresh oil.

There should be a deep puddle of oil under the cam lobe. The lobe damage looks like it either ran out of oil or had insufficient oil flow.XL777 wrote: Ok back up a sec.

1) pull the spark plugs and use the kick starter to crank the engine over until your arm gets tired and see if you can pump clean oil up into the top cam wells (under the cam lobes) just to verify good oil flow into that area.
2) visually inspect the tops of the cam lobes after wiping clean with acetone. See if they look "wiped" or abrased like they do in the pictures here. Just wondering if that funny looking thing might be an artifact of the flash?
I ask because I see it on the back of the cam lobe where wear would be unlikely.
What I don't see is anywhere near enough oil. On mine I have to siphon the oil out before I can use my pad removal tool because there is a lake of oil under the camshaft.

Crank it over, and watch for oil. Pull a Bearing cap and Inspect. Scored?
You need a Low Pressure gauge to check oil pressure on the roller bearing 1000 engine. 0-10 psi would be good, or 0-25.
