Pulled the cams and measured the lobes they all appear within tolerance

Did find some cracking in the rubber spacers under the cam chain sprocket.

As well the rubber cam plugs were melted inside ha

I'm going to check the torque on the main bolts that bolt the cyclinders to the bottom end in the hope that fixes my bottom gasket leak ha

Maybe it's me eyes but.... The cam journals seem dry of oil!

Unless you sucked the oil out (turkey baster) or your oil is extremely clean and I'm not seeing it correctly, there should be some oil puddles in the bottom of each journal (over the shim area) especially in the exhaust journals due to engine tilt angles.

Your lobes seem wet but all else seem done dry...

Since your post is in regards to engine over heating, have you measured your oil pressure...?

No there is lots of oil. It's just been changed so it's clean.

Ya I thought they looked odd too. I've been working too much to work on this finally got new shims and rubber keepers.

Any opinions on those lobes? They measure in tolerance.

Sorry you had a set-back first of all.

I think those cams are toast...those are the worst cams I have seen....I really dont see the oil sitting in the top end as others have said....I think im the 2nd or 3rd person to say this....I guess we are all wrong and your right with a burnt up top end ????? I would check the oiling system.

Good Luck

By "lots" what exactly is the oil pressure and how did you measure it? Just because there is oil in the crankcase does not mean you have oil pressure.
