I have peiced it back together again with the nice clean head. Adjusted my clearances and have gained about 30 lbs of pressure on #1(left) cyl. 120 left 150 right havn't got the rings or rod bearings on yet, or the new gasket (didn't want to waste my gasket for a quick test.) I'm going to try getting the .5 or maybe 1mm OS rings from an older model and hope they fit. I'm very confused on these parts.

Alright! I've stopped being a wuss and opened up the crank case. The engine trouble was indeed caused by a slipped bearing. The left side bearings were trashed! I've replaced them. I do need to replace the front cam chain guide because the plastic on it fell apart. Ordered it already so waiting for it. Have the new gaskets waiting. So while I wait for the part I'll inspect and clean other parts of the engine.
