Will this work to make more power? Would be a cheap source of extra power.

I'm sorry I'm not one hundred percent sure what you are talking about. Flip flopping the cams or installing a separate exhaust cam to put in as the intake cam. Why do you think this will help horsepower. I'm just curious.

If there was a cheap and/or easy way to jack up the power, kawi would certainly have done it. HP ratings on bikes is a major selling point.

In general, bike engines are tweaked up so fine in matching the intake, cam, exhaust characteristics for maximum power that screwing around with any one will almost certainly make it worse.

You have to change them as a set and you really have to know what you are doing to get it right.

Dont know what specs these cams are but i know some jap 4 cylinder bikes have intake cams with more lift/duration than the ex cam, people run 2 intakes in busas, zzrs etc.I dont think there is much gain myself was always told exhaust doesnt have as much effect on producing power in an engine as the intake side of things done, dont know if thats bad advice or what but ex valves always seem to be smaller than intakes maybe fuel in flows more important than waste out?

No, the cam lobes are not in the same location. Different distance from the sprocket to the center of the lobe.

I had read that some engines can gain HP by doing this, like the Busa's. I should've said intake not exhaust. The reason is because the intakes valves are larger than exhaust.

GO FOR IT.
Fitting an inlet cam on the exhaust side is an age old dodge to aid scavenging and get a better cylinder intake fill at higher revs.
Ask anyone with an old triumph bonny etc, This is/was a common tuning mod when over the counter aftermarket cams etc were not available.
Start off with the std lobe centers and work from there.
You'll be very unlucky to get an adverse effect, You should gain 'slightly' more top end power and a willingness for the engine to rev out more cleanly.
A small up jet may be needed and a free flowing air filter would help.
Of course it may make no difference at all depending on how much difference there is between inlet and exhaust cams but you'll never know till you try it ;)

If you install the exhaust cam on the intake side of the head, it will not turn.

On mine, the exhaust cam has a tach drive on one end.

I think he wants to install an intake cam on the exhaust side. On these bikes the IN cam has an extra 20 degrees of duration. It may improve the breathing of the head but to be completely honest I have both the stock 750 twin and a 650 4. The twin will pull up redwood stumps but if you want a screamer just spend the money and get a 650 or even better a 1000. The 750 was a great bike and I absolutely love mine, but its probably the only bike I'll ever just keep stock. It's not worth modifying and I really like it the way it is.
