I went around the block 3km. Pretty sure the rings went in the right way.
how far is that in real miles ??..lol
ok, was it smoking like that after you installed the rings and rode it for how ever far?, next are you sure you havent over filled it with oil.
and last, would be to run a compression check to see where it stands

Dried up valve-guide seals?...or even a broken one maybe.

I did not replace the seals. The more stuff I try and fix I break something else taking it apart or putting it back together. Looks like I will try to replace seals this time sense I will have it all apart again. Getting to the seals seems to be tricky.
