I went to go for a ride yesterday as it was 15 C here in Calgary. 15 C on NOV 25th , that is unheard of. SO I get all dressed up in my fall riding gear ad when I go to start my bike the bike goes, wan, wan, waaaaaaaaaan. Shitty ..dead battery....I know I will use the kickstarter.

1 kick, 2 kick,3 kick
......vroom.....wohoo....rev...rev...rev...

(KEEP THE KICKER)

My starter works just fine, but I kick my bike more often than not. I think it is a cool style, old school.

I'd keep it.

My battery is weak on one of my other bikes and I was stuck push starting it last weekend.

Too bad I wasn't on the Z1R. I could have used the kicker stowed under the seat.

i would keep it myself. i remove my electric starters from all my drag bikes and my hot rod street bike because of the extra weight (i know i could lose weight my self but i'm lazy okay)and one less thing to go wrong k.i.s.s keep it simple stupid. with a dyna ignition it takes no more than a couple of kicks to get it going. and evry body thinks its cool that you can kick start a dragbike.
