My 1200cc 10.25:1 runs at 225* my 1327 ran at 250*.
1260cc in a kz block will end up with toooo thin a wall and this can cause warpage.
bigg cc's and small ports = huge torque down low.
open the ports and the torque curve moves up.
I wish we could edit in tech forums.

Here is the problem guys, err situation. both of those engines(top ends) are sitting in the basement as we speak well the 1260 is running like a ape on the street. but has an oil leak at the base gasket. the top end needs to come off............. so does the big block go on with the turbo pistons? or stay with the 1260.(she needs premium or av gas mix depending on where the riding will go that day)
And the head is ported to the max with the kz head.

Ok i guess new question if i go with the big block what to look out for? any one know about the turbo pistons and the 435 cams?

ps. this is for knight riders bike, hes to lazy to get on here himself

the 1260 should run cooler due to the fins on the block .
i don’t know how much heat will differ with the turbo pistons. it should help a bit but how much???
If u need av gas at times u must have an issue . this must mean that u have detonation at times? this creates extra heat. how about tackling that issue ? this will help u run a bit cooler on either motor.
i had no trouble running premium gas in my 1327 10.5:1 last summer.
i run a Dyna 2000 , and Dyna grey 2.2 ohm coils. I think the Dyna has helped.
i had detonation before adding the Dyna.
as for the leaky base gasket. i had that too. i had my cases resurfaced. they were out quite a bit. no leaks now with a .053" aluminum base gasket.

If you are detonating, you are probably running too lean at some given throttle setting. You would be better off running water injection to address that problem. Or try putting some Lucas fuel treatment in the gas. I put it in my Supercharged Jaguar for hot summer driving. It has eliminated all detonation. A little Xylene helps also.
