Thanks for the link i just bought the manual i would still like any advise anyone can give
Nominal compression for a 750 twin is about 150 psi, service limit is 115 psi. Did you try an oil squirt in and recheck the compression? That will tell you if it is rings.
If you are running "open exhaust" which I assume means no mufflers, it will run terrible. If your post :
k&n air filters
means you are running pods, that will make it run worse. You will need richer jets and probably to move the needles to a richer setting.
My 750 twin came with 45 pilot jets and 125 mains stock. You can still get new pilot jets and I have found 50 pilots run better with my headers.
There are no replacement main jets available that I know of.

First torque the head, check valve clearances and retest. If the compression is still that low, the engine needs work. Probably a valve job.I also ran a compression test on the engine i have 95lb in both clynders but im not sure were it needs to be

using a timing light: On mine, the letter "F" must align with the timing mark at idle. At RPM above 3000, the timing mark must align with the two parallel lines.i have not figured out how to check or adjust the timing yet im thinking that may be the place to start before i go to the jets

Lucky they are BS34's. There are no main jets available for th BS38's used on the earlier twins like mine.Ya might want to take a look @ how I solved the jetting for pods problem. She's been running so well that I still haven't put the 122.5 mains in. BTW both main and pilot jets are still quite available for the BS34's used on the '82 750CSR.
