The head in the photo is a Vance and Hines Suzuki Pro stock head. Ward makes one like it called the Vrotex II which we sell. They make it for both the Suzuki and kawasaki.
These heads have the valve angles spread so they can get 46/38mm valves in it.
This means they can only be used with 85 mm bores. We did one kawasaki at 84, but the intake valve pocket on thew piston almost went into the top ring land.
These heads could not be used on the street because the ports are so large that the motors won't hardly run under 8000 rpm. Racers using these heads leave at 10,000 and shift at 13,000. Valve springs are good for the entire weekend.

Jay what does that head flow? Do you have any numbers? What is the cost?

REPLIKAMASCHINEN HEADWORK REVEALED-- A few pictures of the old style PSM 1550 cylinder head that I had been working on. I have flow tested, re-contoured, installed new guides and cut new seats, etc.

Figured it was a serious piece, but that answers a lot of questions for me.The Vortex ii with Titanium Intakes and stainless exhaust, all assembled, ready to install, goes for about $3400.
This head can not be used on the street.
It is taller than a Kaw head and the frame must be modified to get it in.
It uses 48mm intake valves and 36 mm exhaust. The valve angel is changed to get them in there. The smallest top end we have been able to do was 1463cc. At that size, the intake pocket was getting uncomfortably close to the top ring groove.
In order to close those valves, it used very expensive valve springs that are good for about one weekend at the track.
The "as cast" intake ports are so big that you have to leave the line at near 10,000 rpm to keep from bogging it. It will run seven second ET without any porting.
I will try to e-mail you a photo of the customers head.
Jay
Thats the info about the Kaw version at least.

the freakin ports are so big on that head that i think if you bolted toilet bowls on it would flow as much air.
