OK,Ive measured my clearances and documented the measurements.Are the existing shims all the same thickness, or do I need to pull the existing shims and make individual calculations? Im sure the shims in the head now are the factory shims.And only one valve is below tollerance,.04mm.:huh:

Z, shims will be differnt sizes, tho hopefully close in range. there's also a strong possibility of their being in unique sizes. IE a 172 instead of 170 or 175. luck g

also one other thing depending on how the shims have been installed the numbers might be wiped off ,also never trust the numbers anyway make sure you measure each shim with a vernier caliper to verify size and markdown that shim size and what bucket it came out of before you start your calculations shims usally come in half sizes 200-205-210 and so on so that is 2.00mm-2.05mm-2.10mm a half size is roughly .002" differance. so take your time double check when you are done roll it around and check again.

Sorry - hijack at the request of the post originator! ;)

Here's a pic of the damper bracket. The bracket is a "T" and mounts where the old reflector went. There is probably a better way but this is what I ended up with...
