Do you know the seller? He has done some drag racing, and owns a z1r turbo. He said hes got quite a few parts around but i was kinda just interested in the tranny until i knew it was gonna be alot of work.

the gpz sleeves only bore to 1170cc and i dont think those gpz pistons would work in a kz . The gpz 1100 uses an 18mm pin. and the j pistons are taller i think.

They make an 1170 kit for j model pistons. I think i will go this route and end up using a j model head.

Pistons... All pistons have 17 mm pin holes, but the J model/ '81-'82 GPZ1100 pistons have the pin hole lower in the piston to make up for the short connecting rod. All J model and early '81-'82 GPZ1100 pistons are the same ( '83-'84 GPZ has 18 mm pins ) Therefore any '81-'82 GPZ piston can be fitted to a J model engine to make a big bore engine. Pistons for the J model / '81-'82 GPZ1100 can not be used in a motor that has an early style long connecting rods ******unless a spacer plate is used under the cylinder block to compensate. *****If early style KZ pistons are used in an engine that has the short J model / '81-'82 GPZ1100 connecting rods, a special short cylinder block has to be used.

I just won a set of gpz1100 cylinders on ebay for $30. So are you telling me that it will not work if i take these sleeves and press them into a kz block, and use 1170 pistons with a j head? Alot of information was posted, but i didn't seem to get an answer to my question. I probably just wasnt reading it right, but can somebody tell me if the above combo will work, and if not, what will be necessary to make it work.

You can fit 1100 sleeves in the 750 block, let alone the 1000

I have a 73mm bore 904cc 750 turbo motor with 1100 sleeves and I know of another 904cc GPz750 (non turbo). The stock block does get pretty lightweight though..

all these new ideas are going to cost me a marriage someday.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

depends on which gpz it came from,81-82 should just need a spacer under cylinder to make up for pin height differance B)
