The easiest method I found (one person job) is with the bike stripped to the frame minus the motor... Front end off and at least rear tire off.

Frame on ground/boards, bolts loose.
Tape of frame where motor may chip/scratch during removal.
Towel laid out on floor, right side of bike.
Remove bolts and motor mounts.
Remove top end valve cover, cams & head.
Standing over bike straddled.
Slightly lift & remove engine out of right side.

Now lift and carry onto work table/bench.

Installation is the reversed.
