Hello, i purchased a 1075cc kit for my Z1, it came with cylinder, pistons, rings, wrist pins and all but one Aluminum wrist pin Button. My question is, can these still be purchased, or will i have to get one made?? Also who would be the best supplier for a new complete set of rings?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

wrist pin buttons are normally teflon in my experiance anyway.if you have a number off the pistons ape.com might cross referance them to something they have;)

With a kit that old, you might not be able to get rings. Give us the measurement of ring thicknesses and we will see what they are.

Top ring, second ring, and for the oil, you may have to try and measure the groove width.

Ok, I'll show my ignorance...
In reviewing the OEM fiche file I find NADA so I need to ask, What's a "wrist pin button"?

Are you talking about the circlips?

Without truly knowing what this is, anyway to use the original "Button"?

Have me baffled so I'm game to learn something new...

"used in place of circlips on motors that get torn down a lot" Ahhhhhhhhhh, I see... Thanks, learn something new every day.

So snakebiteaz1, if not tearing this motor down often, why not just use the supplied circlips then?

I know, I know, you paid for 8 and want 8 of them...

The buttons are delrin plastic, can buy it at places that sell plastics. Put it in a lathe and make the diameter and length you need. As far as rings for old pistons,Ive had really good l;uck with Total Seal, look up their site. You'll need to know diameter and ring land space for them to help you.

I had a Z1900 back in the 80s with an RC kit (12something CCs)some kind of aftermarket cam, carbs done and a good exhaust, I was running a car lot at the time, aguy cam in said he needed to sell his bike , I bought it for 200bucks, the fastest bike I ever rode, SC highway patrol clocked me at 138mph and it was still accelerating, talked my way out of a serious ticket and sold it that night at the auction, I regret selling now, got 800 for it and had to show the officer the sale reciept

Thanks guys for all the info, Here is a pic of the button,it measures 17mm across the widest point, the smaller end is 9mm, and extends 9mm, overall length is 16mm. I have the old set of rings, i just thought when i rebuild, it would be a good idea to use new ones. These did not look bad, just never measured them for wear yet!! How long ago has it been sine RC made piston kits like this. When i was younger in the 80's i remember seeing all the ads in the magazines.
