I believe what hes talking about is a J model type 81-84 air cooled GPZ1100. The later ones have the biggest valves & best combustion chambers. 81 was injected the rest were carbed with Cv's I think. Early pipes will fit J model engines I have one on mine
With the following engine number??
zxt00ae001394
Here is a 84 GPz1100 engine number.
KZT10BE029301
See the difference?
And all the GPz1100's (81-84 anyway) had fuel injection, none had carbs.

ZX1100A (AKA GPz1000)
Pretty sure you meant GPz1100
Interesting, if you search for GPz1000 under marketing names at kawasaki.com, it comes up as 82 KZ1100 B2 (GPz).
Now for the $64,000 question, did Kawasaki actually market the 82 GPz1100 as a GPz1000, or is their website mistaken (again)?
The ZX1000 is listed as first appearing as a 1986 model at kawasaki.com.
A picture of the motor would sure help
Or maybe monsterman21 will stop back by someday and give us some more info.

Missed the serial number part, just saw the GPZ1100. I thought anyone would know the difference between water & air cooled. My mistake
Lot's of people don't even know what a spark plug is
Edit:
Been searching Google for ZXT00AE and it shows up as the engine number for a ZX10, but everything I found was for areas other than North America.

The first year 1100 had no fairing and was injected. The rest had carbs & the fairing, first the bikini type then the full front one towards the end.
Sorry, but I beg to differ. All the GPz 1100s 81-84 (KZ1100-B1/B2 and ZX1100-A1/A2 aka Uni-Traks) were injected.

I´d say that their website is mistaken - again!! Firstly, I have never heard of the GPz1100s being marketed as anything but GPz 1100, KZ1100 (B1/B2) or ZX1100 (A1/A2) aka GPz 1100 Uni-Trak. Secondly, over the years I have found sevearal errors on buykawasaki, most notably some serious misinformation regarding KZ 650 alternators (one of which cost me $ 100), but also errors in frame drawings and such - buykawasaki is a good resource but I've come to learn that it's not the gospel, you´ve got to apply your own experience.
