Thanks for your suggestions.

I just ordered a new 4-1 header from a Yamaha FZR 1000 that seemed to fit when comparing measurements over the phone.

I´ll get back with some more details about how the whole thing went.

That looks like a nice header. Let us know how it works out. My current header might last another year or maybe two so I'm interested in how it works for you.

Aren't the cylinders inclined at about 30 degrees on the FZR's ?

I have never had much luck swapping exhaust between different manufacturers. different models of the same manufacturers to an extent is feasable. the exception has been suzuki 1000/1100 exhaust and the big kaw pipes. drag headers will swap a bit between theese two with a minimum of hassel....at times. again i will state....if you have a welder, torches and enough determination anything can be acomplished. i do wonder how much he paid for the yamaha header, i see used kaw headers all the time for 25 to 100 bucks. thats a pretty cheap header in my book. take care all...jonnybiker

The pipes of the FZR header should be straight on the inlet side. The distance between the pipes and the pipe diameter should be pretty much the same as on the KZ750.
This means it´s modification friendly. It set me back 150 dollars. But it´s brand new and I allready have a slip-on from an Suzuki RF900.
All I need is the pipe from the collector to the slip-on. Was planning to manufacture this one myself.

The idea with the used KZ1000 (75 dollars) exhaust was to have something on when I have my MoT. Not quite sure if it will pass with the 4-1 system on.

But anyway...I´ll will get back to you wiht the outcome.
