I´am infected by the Milwaukee Iron Virus
19 Aug 2020 13:40
Did a engine repair on a buddy´s Dyna Glide. He said: "Go and do an extented test ride to verify your work!" Ok, hold my beer, i´ll be back really late." After 200 miles of driven his bike on urban roads (50 mph) and German high ways (top Speed +130 mph) i was flashed how good his bike runs, perfoms and cornering on high speed.
What should i say, i have ended up with a brand new bike in my man cave on next friday.
Don´t worry, KZ´s are my passion for ever

My buddy let me ride his road king the other day. It was really nice, a super well built machine. I would ride one if thats all there were...but I still just don't get it
If I wanted one, I'd have one. But I don't, so I won't

97% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road...

We support anyone Ridin' any two wheeler. After all, we all face the same threats and have almost identical experiences on the road. Having said that...
Harley lost us forever when they made the short-sighted decision to kill Buell.
Eric Buell breathed on the antiquated Sportster motor up to the ragged edge of reliability in an attempt to achieve modern-day power to match the innovative Buell chassis'. Had Buell been allowed to pursue truly modern power plants such as the smooth, liquid-cooled Rotax V-twins that briefly made an appearance, Beull could have had the Corvette of American motorcycles. Harley's pride got in the way & it cost them market share, and cost Eric Buell a promising venture.

When I was wrenching at a shop I was asked if I would work on HD's for his brothers? I said NO I don't want to make a career out of working on one bike. When my kids were small we would hang out at Bills Hamburger Heaven. Reik the Pres of the local biker club came over and said, "Steve I don't want to ask you why you ride a Kawasaki, I want to ask you why you don't ride a Harley?" I told him I don't like the bike and I don't like the attitude that goes with it. "Harumph good answer" and he walked away. They spent more time drinking beer and wrenching on their bikes than riding them. Then there was AMF. They still boasted about Made in USA but then when a friend had his front fender off I said "Hey Art, why does it say made in Japan here? "SHUT UP STEVE"
HD has been outsourcing their parts for decades. So much for Made in USA.
They have their place I guess but their sales are down and they are slow to change.
BTW, one of them came up to me and said my 7 year old daughter told him I said HD's sound like bean farts. "Did you say that?" YUP i said. Kids are so precious.
