Can you spot whats MISSING? Dangerous or not?

Took my bike out today and noticed something I havent before. First pic is the left hand side, second pic is the right hand side. What bolt is that missing in the chain adjuster, whats its called, where can I get one, and how serious is it that its missing?

That is a M8 bolt and washer. You can get one at the hardware store. It is only dangerous if the axle is loose and it shifts so the adjustment block falls out. I'd get one ASAP.

How on Earth could that have come out?
Someone must have taken it out when I had it parked outside overnight. Will any M8 bolt do? Also can you tell me the NAME of what the bolt affixes to. I know its an M8 but in looking for a replacement, an M8 for what? Like "triple tree bolt, rear axle bolt, sprocket bolt?"

When in doubt: check the OEM parts fishe!

M8 x 35mm

Best use a hardened bolt, not the cheese variety.

Last week I posted that i was going to buy a 1977 KZ1000 this weekend. He and NESSIM commented. Later I changed by mind and bought the bike you see below.

So he was telling Nessim...
