I never put in the first bid. I wait until the last 20 minutes and put in my max bid.

Jason, if the bike has been running correctly I would not mess around with the float levels just yet. At least not until you can confirm if they are not set properly. It may be just debris from the tank which causing your problems. So before you fix the fuel leak you need to make sure you are not getting any debris from the fuel tank. Otherwise you will be chasing leaks continuously. Take the tank off, and let it drain into a clean container. See if there is any debris from what you drained. Go further and take off the petcock to clean out any debris it may have. Best to do this without shaking the tank from the point of taking it off so the debris doesn't get dispersed through out the tank. You may want to run some gas through the tank to see if you can get anymore out. When you reinstall the tank, add a clear inline fuel filter to prevent anything that's left from reaching your carbs. Next fix your leaky carb by taking the needle out and cleaning any debris. I had used new needles from my kits and it leaked. Ended up putting the old ones back but used some polishing compound to lap them with the seat a bit. Some use tooth paste. Have the make sure that you don't clog anything with the compound or paste. Leaks are a thing of the past for me. One more point, I always turn off my petcock when the engine is not running. Every single time. So I forgot to mention. When you have the tank off and sitting on a bench and has fuel in it. Confirm to make sure that the petcock is not leaking. All the fuel delivery system has to be clean and functioning properly to prevent float overflow.

It is for a 76. You may have jumped the gun by bidding too early. 5 days out is a long time.

Joe, carb on the outer most left has leaked since picked up. Tank off, cleaned. Fuel system is clean. Center left still leaking.

Looks like it will work. Pretty bad shape, no top and made for the air injection system. Hope you get the 76 one.

The best replacement for my airbox, is the original.
The next best would be any KZ900 Box
The third best would be any box from 76-80 (non shaft drive)
And the last option should be the pods
The z1 airbox will work but modifications will need to be made

So, I have to ask, does anyone have an airbox or know anyone that has one from 76-80? Please let me know if so.

As for the tank, this just looks better (see attached) and you can go farther.....especially with my problem. I have TWS. (Throttle Wrist Syndrome).....the more gas the better

I don't know what mods to the Z1 airbox would have to be made? The Z1 airbox fit in my bike real nice with NO mods.
I used a 78 KZ1000 frame and use a Z1 airbox for my dogs sidecar bike. (The donor bike was a wrecked 1976 KZ900)
The back of the airbox even had enough material to support it's self on the front edge of the battery box tray.
Yes, I also use a K&N filter.

Got the carbs sorted out. Previous owner only replace 2 needles and they were shorter than # 3 and 4 carbs. Thanks for all the help. More writings to come as I continue.
