JDRAKE4200 wrote: Ok…..so I just spoke with Jeff @ Z1 and he has advised me of the following:
The best replacement for my airbox, is the original.
The next best would be any KZ900 Box
The third best would be any box from 76-80 (non shaft drive)
And the last option should be the pods
The z1 airbox will work but modifications will need to be made

So, I have to ask, does anyone have an airbox or know anyone that has one from 76-80? Please let me know if so.

As for the tank, this just looks better (see attached) and you can go farther.....especially with my problem. I have TWS. (Throttle Wrist Syndrome).....the more gas the better

I don't know what mods to the Z1 airbox would have to be made? The Z1 airbox fit in my bike real nice with NO mods.
I used a 78 KZ1000 frame and use a Z1 airbox for my dogs sidecar bike. (The donor bike was a wrecked 1976 KZ900)
The back of the airbox even had enough material to support it's self on the front edge of the battery box tray.
Yes, I also use a K&N filter.

You guys are awesome!!!! Reached out to the guy in Chicago. Will offer him 150 since it's missing the silencer if he responds. Anything else comes to light, lemme know.

That's it. The silencer is rare. I had to use a KZ 900 air box because my Z1 box wouldn't fit my 33mm Miks. I had to make new boots to fit and make the openings bigger for them.
The local Meth Head POS stole my Z1 box, cut it to fit a auto air cleaner for his Honda 750 four.
He couldn't understand why I hated him so. Good thing he died.

Sweet!!!! I put a bid in on it. Now I kindly ask no one get in a bidding war with me so I can get it at a relatively decent price.

I am now running into another issue. The carb on the outer most left side was leaking out the over flow. I adjusted the float so it wasn't leaking and now the carb next (just left of center)to it is leaking out the overflow. Do I need to adjust every float until it no longer leaks? I don't want to adjust them too much as I don't want them to run lean. Previous owner told me that he put in new float needless.... Carb I opened looks new. Do you think the new needles are smaller than previous needles? Please give me some good advice.

Ichecked out the one you are bidding on but below is another one for less. I lost the silencer, wouldn't use it anyway.

If I take the carbs of the bike, but keep the all together on the rack, and don't touch anything, do the need to be resynced?
