KAWASAKI.COM PARTS DIAGRAMS - GONE??? was created by 650ed
I hate to say it but it appears that the Kawasaki.com has dropped parts diagrams for bikes older than 1984. Can anyone here get to older diagrams on that site? If not, I suggest we send them a bunch of emails asking them to give access to those diagrams even if they no longer update them. They really were helpful for identifying parts, finding cross references between models, and determining if parts were still available (Active) from Kawasaki. Ed

Yea, I also saw this today and posted something similar on the 650 site. If/when you find an email or way to contact them about this, please do share. I'll be happy to add my voice. Sad that they now think the only bikes worth supporting are newer than 1984... IMPO, their thinking is :silly:!!!

Here's the link to the contact page. If you click on the drop-down marked "Type of Assistance" you can chose "WEBSITE COMMENTS."
www.kawasaki.com/Contact/Online
If enough folks send emails maybe they will provide a link to the older diagrams. I sent them the following:
It appears that the Kawasaki.com website has changed and as part of that change parts diagrams prior to 1984 are no longer available online. This is a huge step backwards for thousands of us who own earlier KZ models. In the past, we found the Kawasaki.com website parts diagrams to be extremely helpful in identifying parts, determining if parts are still available from Kawasaki, etc. There are MANY Kawasaki bikes still on the road that were built prior to 1984.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give us access to those earlier parts diagrams! Even if they are no longer updated they still represent a tremendous support resource for those of us with pre-1984 Kawasaki bikes.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ed Arold

I thought that was just me! I have an '83 and it sucks to not be able to look up diagrams! There's got to be a way to get them from Kawasaki...

This information was also posted on the KZ650Info forum.
Do any of you have access to other forums where folks might be willing to send emails to Kawasaki.com asking for access to the earlier diagrams? Ed

Just sent my email to KMC. You know the sad part, the person reading our emails, and their boss were both born after our motorcycles were made!!!! I really don't think any of the higher ups at KMC really give a flying f**k about us and our classic old Kawasaki's. Its sad but most likely true. They want to sell new units. Not cater to people that in their mind are just too old to even think about buying another new unit from them!!!
Just think now we will have to go down to that big new Kawasaki dealership and deal with the 18 year old snot nose punk in the AC/DC t-shirt and the purple spiked hair and be insulted by him as he tries to look up the little part we need to get our 1973 Z1 900 running again. Some college-bred moron decided to remove those older parts diagrams I bet.

That's a real drag. It might be worth mentioning to Ma Kaw that the parts diagrams kinda make for a good marketing tool --- many vintage KZ owners also own (or would like to own) a new or newer Kawasaki model.
Partzilla is a good alternate site to use & they do have a cross-reference but it isn't 100% accurate, so you kinda have to have an idea of what the part looks like n stuff. Also, they don't show a diagram drawing in some (many) cases, so you have to use the drawing from an earlier year of the same model type if that makes any sense. doh.
