Very nice! Not only can you look up the the parts diagrams you also can see which models a part was used on if you plug the part number into the "Fast Search" block and then click on "Select Model" under "Where Used." Cool.

I just discovered this myself when I went to look up a part. I immediately called the Kawasaki USA Consumer Services telephone number (866-802-9381). I spoke to a very nice person and explained my concerns, expressing my love for and dire need of the old parts diagram system.
She said that they were still working on adding models and data to the new system. I have no idea if this is true, but I sure hope it is.

Partzilla is a very good reference, but I have found two issues with it.
First, they often do not show that a part has been superseded. The will list the original part number and show that it's obsolete. This is common for fasteners, where I have frequently found that the newer number part is still active, but the only way I know of to identify these cross-references is with the old Kawasaki parts database.
Second, Partzilla often shows that a part is available when it is actually obsolete. This can be disappointing at times.

-Current part availability is gone (active / canceled)
-Part number to model cross reference is gone
-Superseded part number information is gone
Kawasaki had the best parts database available in the entire industry, better than any motorcycle or automobile manufacturer I know of. Now it's no more useful that the old microfiche. Nothing more than a bunch of diagrams with part numbers.
Even if they add data for the older models, it seems unlikely they will restore the previous functionality. The new site doesn't have anywhere to display that data. They would have to rewrite the interface to add those columns and pop-up windows. They just rewrote it, they aren't going to rewrite it again for us.

As an owner of a 1977 KZ1000, I totally understand your concerns. Please be patient as this new site was a major undertaking. I can assure you that Kawasaki Corporate has received many complaints about the missing parts diagrams.
I'm not telling you to quit asking, just asking the community to be patient. Thank you for being loyal Kawasaki customers.

Thank you for posting. I was trying to figure out how to social engineer my way into getting in touch with someone working on the website. You saved me a lot of trouble.
As I mentioned earlier, the new interface is missing a lot of the key features of the old parts database. Specifically, the "active / canceled" status, the "where used" part number search, and the superseded part numbers.
Even if the older bike models are added, as it is currently implemented the new part diagram interface isn't nearly as useful the old. I know you're not speaking for Kawasaki, but do have have any sense for how likely it is that these additional features will be added to the new parts diagram interface?
