Thanks Patton. I really am not looking for specific advice about the trail light issue. I just mentioned it since bluejay58 asked what was wrong. I am just looking for general info on general bike mechanics and repair so I can gain a better understanding of the ways of motorcycle maintenance.

I will add the year and model of my biker to my signature though for future issues.
