simple/retro helmet?

i am in the market for a new helmet, and im not a fan of these over designed ugly helmets with 20 vents, 2 visors, nose covers..etc.

I want something very simple or vintage looking. My only stipulations in finding a helmet is that it is full face and has a visor that can be opened. Otherwise i would be all over the biltwell gringo helmet, but alas no functioning visor.

right now im leaning towards the simpson street bandit, definitely a classic. I think some of the car racing helmets look pretty sweet but probably not best for bikes. any suggestions?

I used to wear a Simpson Bandit in the 80s and LOVED It. Wore it until one of the visor pivot bolts pulled out the threads after many years. Wish I could afford a new one.

I used my Arai Signet last fall, and replaced it with another Arai. For me, the most important thing is how a helmet fits and the Arai Signets work for me. I did try 2 of their car racing helmets and while I did like the clean lines they were very loud (wind noise) when I tried them on a bike.

I had a Simpson helmet in the 80's / 90's. A nice red one. Only problem with mine was that I purchased it on clearance and they only had a medium size. It was a bit tight. Couldn't pass the looks and price and bought it anyways. Liked it for the 8 years I owned it. And very good quality. Wish mine had been the right size though, LOL.

that hjc one is ok. why cant they just have a simple vent opening? why does it always have to be some swooping techy looking thing.

Arai is pretty much the best. You can't really go wrong with them.
I like the simpson too, it's pretty much a classic. I think the stig also wears it. lol.

I have myself a Nolan helmet

It's not bad for the price. You can get it for about similar? Plain and very simple. I like it.
Check the normal sites for deals, I know I had a 20% off discount which I used toward the helmet on www.motorcyclehouse.com

I have an HJC helmet and I like it. Full face with pivoting shield and it is comfortable. Had it a few years now.
