It takes only 10-15 minutes longer (max) to remove and do the oil change

I don't mind taking my pipe off to change oil, but I always change it when I come back from a ride. Everything is so hot to the touch!!!!
The Kerker KR system that came on my KZ1000S1(the REAL Eddie Lawson Replica)had 8 springs holding the pipe to the spigots that were bolted to the head. Just like my Bassani pipes on my MK II. Remove back bolt on megaphone, pop 8 springs off, and your pipe is off!!! Never worried about breaking exhaust studs or buying new exhaust gaskets every 500 miles when I changed oil!!!

good thing your around....too bad i have not saved all the good comments on my posts you have given me,,,,i could then avoid such glaring mistakes
Sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I should say I didn't like the way it looked or worked on my bike. Just my own opinion. I just sold it last summer and in 50 miles or whatever it was I rode with it, it had several scrapes from turns, and not like I rode like Freddie Spenser. I found quickly it was not for me, if you like it and it works for you then that is all that matters, just relaying the possible drawbacks to consider.

Sanctuary use this pipe on their mega customs.
It's a bit pricey at a little over a grand but if they cut me some slack on shipping I may order one from a Japanese re-seller:
Here it is on a heavily modified Japanese Z1R... I love it!

I had originally thought about maybe getting a Titanium Win-McCoy as used on the Bull Dock bikes but it is about $2,300. I thought this Sanctuary pipe would be reasonable but after doing the conversion math they want about $1,200 Canadian. Stuff is very pricey in Japan. I'm sure the quality is nothing short of excellent.
Shipping is free but the 13% on top I pay in import fees take it to nearly $1,400.
I could buy nearly 3 kerkers for that. Or 6 crappy MAC pipes LOL!
Makes me wonder if I was to get this pipe if I would ever be able to recoup my investment. I'm already into my MKII for a lot of money with all the NOS parts and the new blue tin I got from Doremi. And I still have to budget for a low bar conversion. Yikes! This stuff never ends.
Haven't closed the door on getting this and if I could find a Japanese seller who might offer me a discount I might got for it.
I would pay a grand for this pipe.
Just bought a Motogpwerks for my '82 Katana. That is a sweet pipe. Chris does not make a version for the Z bikes.

Here's their site: Racefit
Legend Series
All titanium construction full systems for 1980’s superbikes inc. GS1000, GSX1100, Katana, Z1, GPZ, The Legend series will also go on to form the basis for our range of full systems for current un-faired bikes such as ZRX1200, CB1300, Z1000 etc. It weighs a full 3kg inc. everything
Your buddy may have mixed up kg and lbs. Even so this is a featherweight of a pipe.
I did a thorough scouring of their site and finally dug up the page on the "Legend" series pipe. It is wicked but $1,250 British pounds + shipping:
Have a gander:

My god is that titanium blueing effect ever cool!
