What header would you put on 1979 MKII

I've been accumulating parts for my 1979 MKII for a major facelift and have finally and officialy given up on ever finding NOS pipes. I just purchased all brand new tin & bodywork in blue (anyone want to buy my red set?) tank / tail /sides?) Can supply pics in interested. A little beat up but very decent set. I jhave too mnay red bikes aand I always prefered the cobalt blue. I bought the whole Doremi set which is as close to Kawasaki factory parts as you can get.

Back on topic: I am going to put a header on the bike and have been thinking maybe Kerker since they new ones are almost period correct. Yes, I realize the logo has changed but there are not exactly new old stock of those kicking around. I can live with the modern logo.

leaving the airbox stock.

While money is not really an object I would probably not opt for some crazy titanium pipe from Japan. Anyone seen a retro Yosh pipe that will bolt onto the MKII? Or anything else that might fit the bill?

Opinions please.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWayne,
Chris, or Red as he is called, doesn't have any listed right now, but occasionally he builds a set for the big KZs out of stainless steel. Google motogpwerks or have a look at
for some idea of his work. otherwise... yes a kerker would make a nice "period" pipe for your bike. Good luck with your build. Paul

I second the thought on Motogpwerks. I didn't see any KZ1000 pipes on his ebay store, so I sent him an email through ebay. He had a couple of sets of pipes for sale within a week. Chris was great to deal with. The pipe he builds is a nice stainless repro of a yosh pipe. It looks and sounds great on my bike. Price was right too.

If you can find an old Kerker with the small "Kerker" emblem. That would be my choice

I wouldnt want to "cheapen" it with a vance and hines pipe. The least I would do is a chrome kerker.

I do prefer the Kerker over the V&H, just posted those as they were some cheap deals. I have a blacked out Kerker on mine. I personally won't run anything but a 4 into 1 on my bikes.

I found an old style never mounted that had pitting from sitting for 35+ years...had it ceramic coated satin black...the small logo and old style pipe is the holy grail on MKII's it was the little detail item that made the the bike imo
