There was once a rumor Betty Crocker had a penis.

She didn't like it.

Gave it to her Test Kitchen.

They didn't like it either.

What was the question?

Oh yeah Z1 Ent rocks but the search is a penis.

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

Wow! I just been to the Z1enterprises website and noticed a lot of new changes. Aside from the cosmetics there are number of improvements.

The site seems to be even faster than the last iteration. And the last edition was pretty fast. And the search feature seems to work very well. Jeff, did you change to a new search algorithm? Or just added more key words to the search tags? Either way it worked great for me. And the displayed search results have a much larger picture of the returned search items. In addition, if you click on the picture, the item is further enlarged. Thanks for all the improvements Jeff. Your team have done an excellent job on this edition.

There are a fair few changes. Some obvious, some behind the scenes.

Aside from the cosmetics (which IMHO are much improved), here's some of the highlights.
  • Better compatibility with the ever increasing number of internet devices...

  • The navigation tree was tweaked a little - users can now bookmark any branch in the tree - you can bookmark all your different motorcycle models. We will be replacing the fuzzy Z1 logo with different logos for all the separate areas.

  • The shipping calculator was tweaked a little - combined with a massive effort to reweigh and measure EVERY part in our inventory. All for the express purpose of giving accurate shipping rates.

  • Performance is a little better - partly as the method of navigating the tree changed.

There is a new view of parts called Gallery giving a larger picture of parts - and if you log into your account, you can save your preferences - the parts list options, and the number of items per page.

More to follow as time permits.

Some of the things in the works include Apps for droid and iphone/ipad devices. We've a beta version of this for use inhouse - too rough to release yet, but moving in the right direction.

Joe, one of the biggest challenges is coming up with all the different terms people use for parts - it's a constant work-in-progess. Anytime we get those 'I can't find' calls, we tweak the descriptions to include terms we hadn't perviously thought off.

The site looks much better and is a lot easier to use. My only complaint is that when browsing a long list of parts, the "next page" links at the bottom (and page numbers 1,2,3) don't work for me. Maybe it's just me.

If my item isn't on the first page I have to set the "items per page" really high to just show me everything.

Otherwise really nice site. Easily the best out there for parts for these vintage bikes.

Permanent and perpetual noob.

Jeff:

After reading your post above, you state that we can apparently save searches/preferences/create a wish-list? Is this correct? It was not readily apparent to me, after logging on, how to do any of the above.
