soooooooo what's the story guys? I admit, I dropped off the grid for a couple of weeks due to some really strange circumstances but I'm still in Iowa City. I've put a couple thousand miles on my bike already this summer and have explored eastern Iowa, western IL, Wisco and near stretches of minnesota recently (nice twisties around the la cross/Caldonia area).

Bikes running great, got everything buttoned up (still pushing full syn through the head gasket somewhere but that'll have to wait) so lets get to it!
I honestly don't know how fast I was going, officer; My speedo tops out at 85...

The flag is in Michigan now. I don't want to bow out but as we move later into the year, my time may not allow my participation. As it gets closer I'll have a better idea of how things stand with me.

If this winter is like last year the answer is no. Last winter didn't really happen. I bought my Voyager in Green Bay on Dec. 21 and could have driven it home.
BTW I'm in New Mexico now with no definate plans on when I return to Wisconsin, so I'm able to ride a big chunk of the relay when I go back. this fall, if the timing is right.

As of now BlackZ1R is taking the flag to central LA to drop off to WABBMW or BSKZ650. The other one of those two willmeet OKC_KENT between Houston and Oklahoma City. That's a long haul. IF the timing is right, I could make that run. Only thing is, I'm riding my 91 Voyager. It's a vintage Kaw but not my KZ1000. The Voyager is much kinder to my vintage ass.
To everyone on third leg, email or PM those closest to you and set up rondevous points. Keep every one updated on this thread. Our time is coming soon.
One last thing, northern New Mexico is an awesome place to ride.

Maybe. There seems to be a prediction out there for a lot of snow and ice for the northern latitudes.  My weekends get very busy as we move into fall with harvest and other things going on out at the farm. Again, I'll just have to see how things work out.

You got the memo now! I have been in touch with Bill, WABBMW. Now you have too. Jim, Rainman has contacted me as has BlueJ58. The third leg is getting thin. I'll keep this thread near the top until we get the flag. Every one on the third leg, post here so we know who is still involved. We have a lot of territory to cover before the snow flies. Gotta long way to go and a short time to get there.

If I was on vacation I'd be doing a lot more riding. I get out once in a while, maybe 50 or so miles out and 50 back. Just day rides but exploring is fun and there are a lot of twisties in the mountains. I figured out a way to mount my phone on the bars and make videos as I ride. Unfortunately the files are too large to share.

Tom, would you mind posting something in the main thread about the status of Leg #3? Maybe where you're going to start/finish, how many riders you've got, if there are any holes you need filled, that sort of thing.
