You can see the camera bike doing 299 kph or 186 mph and the Busa comes back doing a LOT more speed and pulling a wheelie. Impressive.

Ghostrider is in his mid-50s, I believe, and have as such survived riding like a moron for decades. Not that I would have ridden more sensibly (but probably not as well) if I had a good handling bike with lots of power - which is exactly why I ride old wobblers with limited power :P Because those kind of speeds in traffic is unacceptable, regardless of skill level, because if you have an accident at 200 mph others are likely to get hurt or killed and not just the rider.

My modified ZX11 will probably be the death of me

I have not done any high speed runs on a divided highway on a motorcycle, but I and three others in Corvettes did do a 140 mph run on a divided highway through traffic, in my much younger days. It was quite intense, just like driving through a parking lot with lots of parked cars while doing 70 mph.

Around here it's two lane roads with no room to get between traffic, so I have to shut it down whenever I catch up to a vehicle. I have heard that someone is opening up a LSR facility in Ohio, I dearly hope it's true. My dream is breaking 200 mph on a bike that I built, without a turbo.

Go Ghostrider!!!!

I'm kind of surprised about the lack of people who are voicing a preference for smaller, lighter engines considering the number of 550 and 650 owners on these boards.

Ford 302 HO EFI - good torque, ok gas mileage, enough power to get you in trouble and easy 200k miles.

If I was going to build the perfect motor:

4,8,12 cyl
air cooled - simplicity
same size bore and stroke - for example 4"bore 4"stroke = 3,300 cc's 4cyl
prefer horizontal opposed but requires more moving parts
aluminum OHC 4 valve head
aluminum block
forged roller crank
forged pistons
H beam titanium rods?
cast iron cylinder
Programable EFI with several different tunes to choose from
power band 1k->8k redline
Built for torque with the widest power band possible.
Selectable sound level from quiet enough to listen to classical music to scaring small children.

And about that busa video.....Not that I am an Angel in regard to speed. In that guy's case there is a cure for stupidity. It just hasn't caught up with him yet. I hope he starts liking life again real soon.

The flat 12 is awesome
