Did I mention that they had a little car show going at the time? It was Cobrapalooza! Cobrastock! This was only 1/10 of the cars there:

Thanks for taking one for the team, Testa. I've been to that car show a few times, though I was always bummed that I could not show mine (too new). I've also seen a very few classic bikes at Coffee and Cars down on Louetta Rd. & 249.

The guy said he had considered doing Coffee and Cars but decided to stick to one meeting a month. They have only been around for 3 months or so now. If the bike turnout got much bigger, then they would probably need to find another venue. Unfortunately, the car show guys are uber-protective of their parking spaces.

Proxy, don't sweat it man. We have all been there before. BTW I totally understand not making it out too much when everyone wants to talk to you about the death of your Father and Uncle. I had moved home to spend the last year of my Father's life with him, and at the time I took a job working at one of the car dealerships that he had previously worked. When he passed, I had to deal with constant questions from former co-workers, long time customers of his, and all his friends and acquaintances from being in the car biz for 30+ years in a small town. He basically knew everyone at every garage, shop, parts house, etc in the whole city. It caused me to recoil for at least two solid years. I still find that my life is affected by his passing even 7 years past. Is there a normal? Have I gotten back to it? Who the hell knows? I know this much, it has made me realize that I'm going to get the most out of this life while I have it. B)

Well, it's been a little while since I have heard from the Bike Snob guys, but it looks like they are planning some events for the new year. The first meeting is in a different location this year. They are going to be at the Airline Motorcycle Center on April 14th from 1-5pm. I have met the owner Andre Hauer, and he is a cool guy. Not to mention that he has an awesome CB550 cafe racer that he built himself. If you look on the Bike Snob site his bike is picture number 16. www.bikesnob.com/

They also announced that there is going to be some sort of motorcycle swap meet happening at MSR Houston off 288 on April 29th. Evidently the track will be open. Does this mean we get to go for a blast? :woohoo: They also have a go cart track there. They want some vintage bikes to show up for a show and they are having a swap meet with food and merchandise vendors. Admission is free for Bike Snob members as well as a discount rate for members who what a swap meet spot or vendor booth. The organization is asking for email responses if you would like to attend. You will get email updates on all this stuff if you join Bike Snob, which is free. This sounds like it could be a cool event, and I will try and go if my schedule allows for it.

April 29 sounds like it may be do-able for me. Nothing is on my calendar, family-wise. Thanks for the post.

Shouldn't be too far of a ride for you either. I had you in mind when I saw that it was at MSR. Alvin is just down the road.
