hard to find more bike for the $ than one of these that can do more things and go forever or go right out on the track.....
this series /model is about as balanced a bike as that era turned out....flat out walk away from just about anyone even big bikes....

I had this bike for a few years, 4 years ago. I pretty much agree with everything you said, it was a great 2nd bike for me. Sporty, but balanced (good word for it).
EDIT: That picture you found is a little lame though, lol. The wolf face in the background cracks me up.

Edit: In the first picture you can sort of see the other CB350F in the background, but like I said it's not much more than a frame.
