Then this must be the 550 (because it a matter of record that they are faster than the 650)

back to a bit of science.... shooting this at Larry
C as he stated elsewhere that he has seen Rainey in action on the GPZ750, but if anyone has answer to the next question he's welcome to shed some light:

What was the difference in lap times in AMA superbike racing when the switch was made from 1000cc to 750cc in 1983? Kawasaki won back to back in 82' with eddy on the KZ1000 based bike and in 83' with Wayne on the GPZ750 based bike, so which one was faster on pure lap times, (on same circuits of course)?

do ya suppose the improved chassis/suspension had anything to do with it?what was the lap differance between the gpz 750s and 83 gpz1100s with the same newer suspension? :woohoo:
im sure the lap times between the chevys running nascar in 1955 and the chevelles running in 1967 were diffent also,i think it had something to do with better tires/brakes and suspension i think the bigger motors and more hp helped a little also! :woohoo:
what were the differances in lap times between the 1000s and the 650s/1000s in 79/80? B)

So I'm starting to get confused. I spent about $3000 on my big motor to make it faster and I could have just bought a 650? I guess the entire racing world has had it wrong for 50 years, there IS a replacement for displacement.

I'm sorry, we've tried to keep this a secret so we wouldn't hurt the feelings of all of the 1000 owners. But now the cat's out of the bag, all you 900/1000 owners could have saved the millions of dollars you've spent to try and make your bike fast just by buying a 650/760.

And all you 650/750 owners, you no longer have to back out of the throttle to make those 1000 guys think they have fast bikes. Go ahead and show them what fast is all about

I remember back in the 80's guys with 1000's telling me "I'm going to get some bigger cams and kick your a$% next week" I'd tell them it won't hurt my feelings when that 1000 beets me.
