mine is a 77kz 1000a1 that I got for 800. needed a battery to run $60. $500 for getting the carbs redone and i still need odds and ends and Ive done some electrical work and lots of general cleaning.

Ebay again. $700 and a 14hr round trip.

1980 kz550. The seller was asking 800 dollars and said the bike needed nothing. I told him based on that I would buy it. It turned out all carbs were off and in pieces. All the normal electrical corrosion problems, wouldn't start, etc.
Bottom line, seller paid for all parts and hired me to put it together and make it run. After all was said and done, he paid me 100 dollars to take the bike.

good story.

I pulled this 79 KZ650 out of the weeds for 300 bucks from an older man last year. It had been sitting since 1998, title, keys everything. 10,000 MilesHad it running the first day i got it.


-Rear tire for $5.
-Mirrors and Stock headlight for $15.
-Paint $25.
-Oil/Filter $25.
-Battery $35
-lots of cleaning and polishing.

Including the bike i spent a little over $450

Sold the vetter for $75

Sold the bike 3 month later for $1500 and payed some bills.

Done with it
