That is cheaper than a kerker baffle for sure, BUT still too much for my broke-a$$. I talked to my mechanic and he has a piece of 1.5 inch pipe waiting for me and will weld it onto my endcap once I drill it full of holes. Would 1/8" holes be a good size?

It is not the holes it is the shape of the holes. They are not round they are sheared miniature scoops.

I think the baffle is about 10-12" long, it's been in there too long for my poor memory. And if I can butt in here, don't drill any holes in the end cap until you get the baffle installed and try it. From personal experience...

Hey Tri, maybe we can try that at the races while we watch the fast bikes go by. That sounds like some fun. You still got any of that moonshine left? I got my jug and I hope you still have your washboard. Maybe we could strike up the band too.:woohoo:
HEHEHEHE he fell for that old stick in the wheel routine. It's all fun and games till someone gets an eye poked out.:S

I have a friend who is quite insistent that these bikes were designed to operate with the stock exhaust/airbox so as to create backpressure for the valves and that i am doing my bike a disservice by running the Kerker and pods. It has been my uneducated assumption that the baffle and endcap are compensating somewhat for that issue.
Is there any merit to his argument, or to my assumption?

The bike runs great...I am waiting for some more jets from Z1 and I am "done". I had it out for a longer ride last week and realized that the exhaust with an endcap but no baffle was asking for trouble with the cops who don't like me much, and going to kill my hearing. I ended up taking Jack's advice and going by my mechanics place and getting a 1.5" piece of exhaust pipe. With an awl, a big milwaukee hammer drill and 2 drill bits I made Jarlsberg cheese out of it, then I cut 3 inch slots in the end of the baffle and peeled them back like a banana. The "banana peels" will be cut to shape so they perfectly fit inside the megaphone and hold it in place. My buddy is welding the baffle to the endcap tomorrow for me during the day, so hopefully by the weekend I will have it on the bike. I also changed my oil and filter today (my headers give me clearance:)), and fixed a hole in the floor of my truck...busy day! Yeah, and if 98.5am you mean me, then you're right, don't mess with me or I will eat you!

After you get the baffle in you will have to rejet again. I turned my chrome pipes blue from putting in a baffle and not rejetting. By the time I figured it out it was to late.
