I could live with this if they make it a 1200 or 1300 air cooled.

Yeah okotar, that's the closest example yet that I'd be interested in. Don't like the Honda, I had a CB750F when I was a kid... I vowed 'never again!', I meant it! In 1983 Kawasaki started with the swoopy kinda futuristic styling that just left me cold... still does. Can't help but respect all of the new offerings from the big 4 over the years but none of them are soul stirring to me. I'm expecting that I'll just have to be content with my zed for many more great years!

I think even a mid-size bike with a more conventional layout and no plastic cacoon would sell. Something on the order of:

Kawasaki manufactured ZR1100's to 2005 but had not marketed them in North America since 1993. The picture is a factory paint job, BTW.

They were making the Police bike until about 2004 or so. They can just revive that engine and make it a 1200-1300 with a new 16 valve head and fuel injection. That would be an easy 130-140 horse.

Now that's a good idea. Shouldn't cost too much to retool for that. Only problem is passing emissions now. Doesn't that get tough at 130+ hp with air cooling.

Does anyone currently build a new, production, aircooled bike that makes this kind of power? That would be an awesome combo.

That's what I was thinking. I started wondering about who had the most powerful aircooled motors in current production, and my mind immediately went to a Duc < 130hp. Anyone else got a better idea. For that matter, what was the most powerful, production, air cooled bike that anyone can think of. GSXR 1100 with an asterisk thanks to the oil cooler?

what was kawi thinking the zr1100 would have sold like hot cakes if they had done a little homework and figured out what people wanted instead of listining to part of what was said and interperting the rest you all know how english to japenese doesn't always come out right any of you have looked an older manual will know what i'm talking about. if in 93 the zr1100 that was avaiable in north america looked like that it would have sold very well unlike the turd stain flat burgandy color scheme that was around then. the o.e companies have dropped the ball so many times when it comes to styling and trying to figure out what the customer wants. i can name tons of bike that looked as if they stood back 20 feet and threw parts at them and whatever stuck they used.
