I bought my first Harley in 97' when i was 21 years old. brand new Electra Glide Standard, loved that bike like no other. 60,000 miles in six years with not one problem. sold it and got a 03' electra glide classic, crashed that one on the other side of the country and took the money and got a 05' electra glide classic. I think the FLH family is the best touring bike made, that is my opinion so lets leave it at that. I like the dyna super glide and a few sportsters but other than that you can have the rest. fat boys, springers, heritage and on and on i dont really care for them. i worked as a technician at a harley shop for three summers and suprisingly there are alot of nice harley riders, but there are more of the dorks that came in a drop alot of money on putting crap on to make their bike loud and ugly and we honestly had a good time picking on them. we had a few of the chopper bikes come through the shop while i was there, OCC, west coast, yaffe, and excile. they are intertesting to ride, usually a bear to work on.
pic is my 05' when i got back from Virginia.

Do it right or don't bother doing it at all.

I haven't personally got into Harleys yet- maybe I am not old enough at 59.
Very popular bikes here in the UK with a massive following although a lot of the guys wear chrome German military helmets. I would personally be too embarassed to ride a bike like that in the picture. Maybe I am missing something?

I love watching Orange County Chops on TV, it is a real hoot!
Teutul senior is a great character- like a selfish kid with a new toy. Mikey is my favourite, wouldn't let him near one of my bikes though. Haven't worked out yet whether they are for real or a follow up to Baywatch.
