$17/yr here in east TN.

One time $5 charge if you want a plate that advertises what war you're a veteran of. Mine starts with a "V".

In Quebec, Canada the 2009 rates are :

......................................A...........B..........C.......D
............................Insurance..Service...Bike...Total
125 cc or less.........$174........$4......$40.....$218
126 cc to 400 cc.....$285........$4......$40.....$329
401 cc and over......$474........$4......$40.....$518
(regular, "vintage with vintage"?)
401 cc and over......$986........$4......$40....$1030
(high-risk, "young with rocket"!)

A...Insurance Premium (including taxes).
....This is collision only.
....Liability is compulsory,private and extra.
B...Service Charge
C...Vehicle Registration Fee
D...Total

A little background... our insurance in "compulsory" and "no-fault"... our medical care is free. So, you can ride your crotch-rockets stupidly if you WANT to, but you WILL pay for your portion of your ambulance ride and medical costs up front. :S

I pay about $518 CND a year to the provincial government. I also pay small extra premium on my private car insurance package of about $100 a year for the Liability coverage.

All this for 12 months of coverage or 3 months of riding... whichever comes first.

I must be nuts! :silly:

Just received my new Cali. DMV renewal notice.

$74 bucks. Still have the blue plate on it.

Will have to see if California has a hostorical plate avaiable... My luck the governator would find a way to pinch those folks too.

$14 a year in ny unless you register it for the first time. then they also charge you $50 for a "title fee".
it cost me more to register the 1100 then to insure it the first year.(tax, title, registration)
$98 to register, $91 to insure. go figure

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

Wow. I just got my renewal in the mail today. I paid 32.50/ yr for the last couple of years and now its $65.00. Unbelieveable. They double rates now. No small increases anymore..they just gouge you for everything they can squeeze out of you. NJ sucks.

About $50 a month for a regular bike depending on your safety rating (this includes insurance).
About $17 a month for an antique bike ('79 or older) which also includes insurance except that the max they'll pay out on an antique plated bike is $800
