Hey guys, a group of us are meeting up at bonjour cafe bakery (1550 E 55th inside of strip mall enclave) in Hyde Park around 8a to eat and meet. 9a we shoot out and up to Michigan to meet up with Barney and ride and spend the day in Michigan. It'd be nice to ride up to saugatuck and maybe even jump in the water cool off and enjoy the day then come back home later. Some of you mentioned interest in riding with us? PM me. As far as Greg, I hope you can make the ride. I will pm you my number so we can work out the details. [img]

I am riding Sunday 8/15 if anyone is interested. My KZ is in need of fork seals. But, my ZRX is running great.

What say ye Lawrence, Otto? Care to finish that ride we started awhile back? Some great roads locally We can start at my house again or pick another meet up. I am in the far west suburbs and can lead a ride through some very good backcountry roads. I can be reached at 630-391-1787

My kickstand will be up by 8:00 or 9:00 am depending on any takers.

Hey Forrest, killer helmet design. We had a great ride up to saugatuck. Met up with Barney and his crew
Killer sand dunes. Can't post pics as my comp is down. Sunday coming what's planned?

Hey Sax, Glad to read you had a great day. And, good talking with you today. I still think we should finish that ride for Darius's sake. Come on out Sunday early and we will hit some decent roads for IL.

Thanks on the helmet. There is a story or two that goes with that one. Had a guy in Virginia custome airbrush for me. He is very talented.

BTW, does this corner look familiar? This is from 2008. Yup same corner as Darius. This green ZRX, rider, and passenger did not tag a SUV but got caught in the corn netting. Frame slider saved the engine cases. Exhaust and fairing got rashed. After replacing a clutch lever it was rideable. Tough bikes.

hey man, sorry my computer is down for the next possibly week. I have been really busy refinishing the wood in two of my rooms that I haven't been able to load them on to my disassembled computer but I have them and will send them and post them if you like. Sorry dude but baby calls. I blew off riding last weekend in favor of torture. I hate refinishing wood because I am such a perfectionist without real skill at this area. Actually, my skills have improved 100 fold but it is no easy task to do. But the good thing is that now I will have no painted wood anywhere in my house. lol

Damn! You gotta stop killing these guys on the corners. They obviously can't match your mad skills at cornering. lol
When I first saw that pic I thought you had gone down. Wow. That sucks. I spotted an 03 with 5k miles not too far for 3k firm. Looks like this weekend I may have a new bike.

Saxophonejonz,
Sand it 60, 100, 120, varnish, sand 150, varnish, sand 150 etc. until sealed, do it twice more, let dry polish. Yeah, I guess it is time consuming. Used to refinish pianos for a living.

Wow, I just got this. lol I have a laptop now I can use. How was that ride up to Traverse City? I spent that whole weekend stripping varnish and stain off of the room. When I finish I will post those pics plus the pics from previous debaucery. ;)
That's a lot of sanding. I think I used a 60-80 grit and then went to 120 or 180 I don't remember but the steel wool got it pretty smooth so I think it worked out. I know I didn't sand very much. I thought it would be fine as before it was nice. I didn't want to take off too much wood. It looks nice but I know what you mean. It's not as smooth as a baby's butt like I'd like but it looks great nonetheless.

Saxjonz...Didn't make it to Traverse City, everyone bailed on account of bad weather forecast and bad money realities. Instead I rode to Detroit by myself to see a rocknroll show. Took all back roads freezing saturday night, stayed with friends, beautiful ride home on a different back road route Sunday. I gotta get a friggin' camera! Yep, interior trim don't need as much smoothness as pianos to look real good. What'd you use...polurethane? Try fine steel wool and minwax finishing wax after it dries for at least a week. Eager to see those pics...take any of officer friendly?:woohoo:
