Nice ride. Actually, I don't think that's a bad price on the bike at all. I think I have about 6-7k total into my bike with a few grand to go before I even touch the engine. To have one that is totally finished and ready to ride, at around 8 sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Building these things are expensive. Especially when you're a hack like me.
