Other carbs that will fit a KZ750 B Twin ????
06 Dec 2021 18:17
Tired of messing with the BS38's. I just installed an electronic ignition and it the motor starts, idles and revs better than ever. If you go to around 3,000 rpm's it sputters, backfires, etc.
Does anyone know of any other carbs that will fit my bike? Or a conversion manifold supplier to go to a single carb. A Mikuni 34 foe example?
Thanks for you help.

Are you running pods on the BS38s? its easy to block the diaphragm intake with which comes into play around 3k RPM.
As Scirocco posted - I have the Topham RS-34 carb kit on my 750. Utilizes stock carb boots. I made some adapters so I could keep the airbox. small increase in power and excellent throttle response. easy to tune. Only downsides are cost and lead time from Germany as they are made to order.
You can also run dual VM 34 carbs. They are not a rack so balancing them will be difficult and you will have to use two seperate chokes. MukuniOz sells a kit. mikunioz.com/shop/kawasaki-kz750-dual-mi...copy/?v=13b249c5dfa9
If you want to trailblaze - I have been looking at carbs for the late model carbureted Triumph Bonnevilles, specifically the CR and FCR carbs for my 750 track bike. The spacing is different but it shouldn't be too hard to adapt them it you can machine some small parts.

Thank you Scirocco for the input on the TM34 carbs.
Yes Docto, I am aware of the pods blocking the intake hole. Unfortunately that was not my problem. LOL!!
The mikunioz kit looks pretty nice. I'll check on it.
Thanks again.
