82 kz1000 ground up build

Almost done modifying the frame to clean the chain.  Exhaust is ready to mount and weld up and fuel rail is ready to bolt on.  I'll get pics next post.

picked up headlight and seat and got lots of welding done.  Will have pics later asap.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished, must be a potential BOTM contender (even with water round it  Lol)

Will have to get the frame resprayed after all says and done.  Time to tackle the exhaust!

Those are some really nice welds

Exhaust hanger, lower radiator mount and a few gusset plates getting welded on in two weeks.  Found a semi-local shop to help out with the exhaust later this month.  Heading to the DMV tomorrow to get the paperwork going on the title and registration.  I'd like to have it ready for the dyno before Christmas.

Paperwork for the title is in the mail, wish i'd have done that part first but i forgot til very recently.  Waiting on my fuel rail from the machine shop yet, injector holes were a touch undersized.  Have the last batch of parts to weld on the frame once the welder is free.  Dyno appointment tentatively in December depending on weather, dont have a covered motorcycle trailer for wisconsin winters.  Few odds and ends left to go but if its not complete by spring of 2026 i'm selling it.
