and finally...................................................I got back to the clocks. Pulled the tacho apart, bit like opening a tin of tomatoes really. The tacho face is very faded, especially where the red line is. I popped the dial off and will have a go at polishing it up and repainting the redline. If I fail miserably at that it might be time to look for a replacement face lol! Time will tell. Also started taping up gauges for sanding and painting,
Taped the speedo glass back together to get a template so I can try and find a glassiers that will cut me a new one. Bit hard to see how fast you are going when it's like this!

Did it crack taking it apart? That thing would be hitting me in the eye every time I got on the bike.

No mate, the bike I got had no clocks on it. That speedo was one that Eddiem sent me but the glass cracked in transit despite one helluva lot of poly bubbles. I think they load packages by throwing them from a distance! :S

I'd be madder than a swarm of killer bees.
Found my speedo laying in the neighbor's dirt driveway. Last week The headlight ring was kept by the renter next door. Both times a substitute. I've found piles of mail in the desert. These people get paid BANK, get benefits and a great pension. Hope you filed a claim.

Got the freshly coated rims back with their new rubber on! Very stoked with the outcome, they look mint! Cool thing was a mate of mine machined up two bolt type bungs with rubber washers and blanked off the holes where the rim locks bolts exit from. I used Lasertec tubeless tyres and now the front and rear are running as a tubeless setup. Also, my mate that put the tyres on the rims for me used the glass beads inside the tyre for balancing. No ugly weights on the outside of my newly coated rims!

Howdy dudey Larriken.
Lovin ya threads mate. Inspirational.
I like the sound of those glass beads in the tyres. I've just been trying to track down a supplier in New Zealand via the counteract web site but with no joy.
Where did you get yours?
Cheers hopefully

My Lester's didn't have those ridges. Those are a PITA to change tires on.

I have been running tubeless tyres on tube style mag rims for a lot of miles and not had a problem. I have had a lot of problems with tubes though. The lip in the centre on a tubeless rim is to stop the tyre coming of the bead and slipping into the centre of the rim in case of a puncture. I have had a massive nail rip into a tubeless tyre on a (K)Z tube rim and no drama. It has deflated and but not in a sinister way. In saying that I have had a rip in a tube and it is as scary as buggery when that happens. Tyre instantly deflates and is straight off the bead in seconds. Not cool. I know this type of debate will be endless but I am more than happy running tubeless setup on tube style mag rims.

Not sure where my mate gets them from but he owns a bike shop so I am guessing shouldn't be too hard to track down. I will give him a bell and find out.

The worst tire I had to mount had the groove on the outside of the tire. I don't remember what brand (1987) but getting it to seat was MURDER. If it was that hard to get on, I guess it would stay on until stopped.
