Had a 1978 KZ400 with 454 original miles brought into the shop to get running. Had sat outside for a few years before finally being put in a garage. The cost to get it back in shape was too much for the owner so WALA i take it off his hands. Ive got a 1000 frontend im gonna install along with a few other goodies. Its rusty and crusty but runs great. Thank God the tank had been drained. :P

The 1000 front end is pretty friggin' heavy on a 400 I'd just find an upgraded single caliper and master cylinder and run that, tons lighter and newer and stronger

my bikes; 80kz1000(project), 77 gl1000, 74 h2 (project)
Past; 78 kz1000, 83 kz550

And the madness continues. Got some new shocks a little shorter than the Zephyr shocks, stainless bolt kit to replace the rusty phillip screws and a new black ribbed (for her pleasure :woohoo: ) seat is on the way. Also just for shits and giggles im machining up a fitting to allow a oil pressure gauge to be fitted. More madness is in the works !

What? I thought you worked in a bike shop? You should know there are no Phillips screws on a KZ; those cross-head screws are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) and they are different than Phillips screws so Phillips screwdrivers don't fit them well.
2 demerits!  Ed
