Good 'points' Brett & Corey! :P

The head has just been re-done by a very competent local race shop, so the springs should be up to the task. You could be on to something with the ignition components tho. I'll have to work through them to see where the most obvious place to start might be.

Well, it's been a while lads!! :P I think we solved the issue with the high rpm stumble. It was the float settings! We decided to go right back to the beginning and check everything. My buddy thought they we're out of wack, so we re-set them, put the jets and needles back to the recommended starting place and... BAM... clear sailing from idle to red line!! B)

MANY thanks to everyone who chipped in to help. You all had a hand in this. B)



Even better news, I get to truly prove it on Sept 17th! I've finally got time for a track day session! Just have to hope for a nice clear day. ;)

I'll do my best to bring a full report with pics and video! :cheer:

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Well, I made it out today to the last Vintage Trackday of the season. Only problem was, the rain came along too. :angry: We had 1 slippery 20 minute session and the rain came shortly after that. I had time to pack up, and just beat the downpour! :dry:


The 550 is still not 'right'. I think I need to get some tuning time on my buddies dyno. :lol: It's good to have friends. :whistle:
